Ward A5 is a 28 bedded trauma orthopaedic unit based on the 1st floor at Wythenshawe hospital. We have a high number of fragility fracture patients and a dedicated trauma co Ordinator’s team to expedite surgery. We work closely with the MDT to ensure right care, right place and right patient. Many of our patients live with dementia and our nurses excel in building relationships with the patients and relatives alike. Working closely with patients living with dementia provides opportunities to support the latest thinking in nursing.
On ward A5 our vision is to improve the quality of life and health for the patients we care for. We thrive to excel in delivering a quality service, focused on safety, research and teaching. We want to attract, develop and retain our workforce. The MFT values: Everyone Matters, Dignity and Care, Working Together and Open and Honest, are the principles that guide the way we work every day. We thrive to deliver a high-quality personalised experience for all our patients and staff.

We set standards that other Trusts seek to emulate so you’ll benefit from a scale of opportunity that is nothing short of extraordinary.
We’ve also created a digitally enabled organisation to improve clinical quality, patient & staff experience, operational effectiveness & driving research, and innovation through the introduction of Hive; our Electronic Patient Record system which launched in September 2022.
We’re proud to be a major academic Research Centre & Education provider, providing you with a robust infrastructure to encourage and facilitate high-quality research programs.
