Mental Health Nurse Opportunity

Athona Ltd has an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled Mental Health Nurse to join our Adult Acute Services team. As a Therapeutic Mental Health Care Specialist, you will provide high-quality care and therapeutic support in an inpatient setting.

Our hospital offers a range of inpatient mental health services, supporting male and female patients during times of crisis. Our acute mental health wards provide a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for individuals with conditions such as schizophrenia, personality disorders, depression, and bipolar disorder.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivering nursing care and acting as a named nurse for a defined group of patients.
  • Assessing patient needs, planning, and delivering care in partnership with patients and their families.
  • Engaging with service users to assess progress and adapt care plans.
  • Promoting the Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) model in patient care.
  • Ensuring high standards of care and therapeutic engagement during inpatient stays.
  • Participating in quality improvement processes and clinical governance activities.
  • Providing clear information to patients and families regarding care.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records and effective communication within the team.
Requirements:
  • Active NMC registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid PIN.
  • Knowledge of NMC standards, guidelines, and professional practices.
  • A positive attitude toward service improvement and commitment to quality care.
  • Ability to apply flexible and innovative approaches to nursing practice.
Salary Estimate: £42,250 per year
