Able to understand standard written Welsh and English; both formal and informal.Able to gather information from various sources such as letters, reports, articles through the medium of Welsh and English in order to fulfil the post.

**Purpose of the post**:

- Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the heart of everything we do.
- To provide an Archives and Museums Education service

**Responsibility for functions**:
**Main duties**:

- To promote educational work in Gwynedd's Record Office and Museums
- To work closely with the County's Education Advisers, Inspectors and other educational bodies, and be aware of developments within the national curriculum.
- Respond to individual requests from teachers and pupils.
- Prepare publications, material for teachers and computer data.
- Work with education goups in the Record Office and Museums.
- Participate in courses organized by Cynnal and other educational bodies.
- Regularly visit schools and maintain close links with teachers throughout the County.
- Develop an education programme and organize activities in the County's museums, in co-operation with staff based at Bangor Museum and the Lloyd George Museum and the Museums and Galleries Officer.
- Co-operate in the task of marketing the education service provided by the Record Offices and Museums.
- Monitor the administration of the work done by the education service.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
- Accomplish general Departmental and Service Management tasks as directed by the Principal Archivist and Heritage Officer.
- Responsibility for self-development.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety rules in the workplace in accordance with the responsibilities noted in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Council’s Health and Safety Policy.
- Operate within the Council’s policies in relation to equal opportunities and equality.
- Responsible for managing information in accordance with the Council’s information management guidelines. Ensure that personal information is treated in accordance with Data Protection legislation.
- Commitment to reducing the Council’s carbon emissions in accordance with the Carbon Management Plan, and to encourage others to act positively towards reducing the Council’s Carbon Footprint.
- Undertake any other reasonable duty which corresponds to the salary level and responsibility level of the job.
