We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Fellow or Assistant Professor to play a central role in a new MRC-funded partnership of applied medical statisticians in sub-Saharan Africa - the International Statistics & Epidemiology Partnership (ISEP).
The postholder will be will be responsible for co-ordinating and supporting key aspects of the Partnership including co-developing an equitable partnership framework, leading the monitoring and evaluation of ISEP activities, conducting a scoping review on capacity strengthening in applied medical statistics in low-and middle-income countries, co-ordinating the preparation and delivery of statistical skills courses and placements between partner institutes, and ensuring links with other biostatistics capacity strengthening initiatives in sub-Saharan Africa.
The post-holder will have a postgraduate degree in a relevant topic (PhD for Assistant Professor) and relevant experience (expertise for Assistant Professor) in applied medical statistics. Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a research team, excellent interpersonal skills and organisational skills are essential. The post is available 0.5 FTE - 1.0 FTE and fixed term until 31 December 2028. The post is funded by the MRC and is available from 1 January 2024.
