The Corporate Credit Risk team within the Wholesale Credit Risk Department is primarily involved with the analysis and credit rating of multinational and UK corporate clients within the perimeter of Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (SCIB) in the UK.
The team supports the activities of CIB, GTB, treasury desk and other product areas in the UK. Working together with Front Office in the annual process of pre-classification of limits and the approval of specific transactions.
It has close interaction with other units of the Santander Group and within the UK in its role as Global/Local Analyst for all UK based clients
The Credit Partner (CP) requires self-management of workflows as well as strong interaction and good communication with the front office, senior management, and HO.

- Undertaking internal rating assessments.
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of new lending proposals, annual reviews and waiver requests, ensuring that all risks are identified and a suitable recommendation is provided.
- Providing independent and robust recommendations to the Senior Management/Committees about potential transactions.
- Demonstrating effective time management, continually prioritising to meet deadlines.
- Taking a proactive role in communication to key stakeholders (incl. Senior Management)
- Controlling global positions and ensuring excesses are investigated and appropriate action is taken within the required timescales.
**What you’ll bring.**
- Knowledge of loan products and treasury products including familiarity with covenant (setting and monitoring), security, documentation (ISDAs) and facility structuring.
- A demonstrable track record in large corporates risk analysis, including balance sheet, P&L and cash flow trends.
**It would also be nice for you to have.**
- High degree of computer literacy and ability to interpret complex business models (and run appropriate sensitivities)
- Clear and articulate communication of credit decisions, with an ability to justify such if challenged with sound reasoning.
- Strong skills in communication, both orally and written form, in a confident, articulate, structured and coherent manner.
- Proven and effective negotiation / influencing skills.
**What else you need to know.**
This role is a **12 Month FTC **based in Santander London branch, Triton Square with hybrid working.
