Morgan Philips are currently working with a client based in public sector based out of Edinburgh who are on the hunt for a Technical Support Specialist. Working in their Service Desk team, you would be providing second line support across a wide range of hardware and software. The majority of work will be done independently ‘in the field’.

Main Duties

Build, configure and install computer equipment, including software at customer sites.

Research and retrieve appropriate fixes via the internet and other support media.

Resolve IT issues raised by customers.

Liaise with suppliers to ensure the correct delivery of services / goods purchased by IT.

Write system documentation.

Maintain the core internal IT management systems and ensure user and asset procedures are followed.

Provide ad-hoc assistance to the end-user.

Essential

Jobholder must hold a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Information Technology or similar qualification or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience;
Previous experience in Windows desktop technologies (including Apple Macs) working in an ICT support role.

Jobholders must also hold a current driving licence.

Desirable

ITIL Foundation Qualification

Customer care qualification

Experience of working in a school environment
