Job Title: Care Worker
Overview:
To provide high quality personal, social and emotional care for clients within day care setting. To care for and be aware of the needs of people who attend a day centre and help them achieve a fulfilled, self-determined and dignified life.
To take part in the care planning process and provide care for individual clients to meet the objectives of agreed personal care plans. To work within the sections philosophy of care at all times, promoting equality of opportunity, choice, privacy, dignity, rights independence and fulfilment for clients.
**Duties**:
- To be aware of the individual needs of clients and respond appropriately to their likes and dislikes.
- To monitor clients’ practical and personal needs, which may include clothing, hairdressing and health needs, such as dentistry and chiropody.
- To be aware of clients’ emotional needs, provide support in times of distress and assist in maintaining good relationships with relatives, friends and other users of the service.
- To assist with organising and leading activity groups for clients which may focus on educational, leisure or therapeutic themes.
- To write basic information reports and assist the senior staff in maintaining routine administrative systems.
- To immediately inform the senior officer on duty of any significant change in a client’s behaviour pattern or appearance and give a full report as required.
- To observe health and safety requirements, such as wearing gloves and take other precautions to reduce the risk of assault.
**Job Type**: Temporary contract
Contract length: 2 months
Pay: £16.93 per hour
Expected hours: 37 per week

- Enhanced DBS (required)
