The post holder will lead the East Midlands Patient Safety Collaborative (to deliver National Patient Safety Programmes in the East Midlands) and programmes of work from the broader AHSN portfolio with a safety / improvement focus.
**Main duties of the job**:
Elements of the role are building effective networks at a strategic level for quality improvement engaging a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including ICSs. As a key member of the AHSN programme board, you lead at the interface with our national patient safety commissioning team.
The post holder will ensure delivery against out agreed network plans and project objectives within an agreed budget. Management, Leadership and development of the improvement delivery team forms a key element of post holder duties. The post holder will support and steer development of local measurement plans for the national programmes and oversees the process of producing delivery progress reports for NHS England, the Governance Board and other forums.

**Training & Qualifications**:
**Essential criteria**:
- Educated to Masters’ degree level or equivalent experience plus formal management or project management qualification which has been tested in a management / project management role bringing knowledge and skills to PHD
**Desirable criteria**:
- A recognised training course or qualification in patient safety
- Recognised training course or qualification in one or more of the following: o Quality Improvement o Change management o Programme / project management
**Experience**:
**Essential criteria**:
- Proven ability and extensive experience of managing medium/large-scale innovation and improvement projects relating to patient safety within a complex environment using a range of programme management techniques; developing and implementing business processes to meet identified business needs, acquiring and utilisting necessary resources and skills, with agreed parameters of cost, timescales and quality
- Working in a senior quality improvement role at local and regional level working with a range of diverse external and public organisations including NHS agencies, local authorities, government agencies, voluntary and independent sectors
- Significant experience of service redesign and development and a proven track record of service improvement, sustainability and spread
**Desirable criteria**:
- Operational and/or clinical experience within a health or care setting
**Knowledge**:

- Developing a broad range of programme management practices, tools and techniques including new and emerging ones around impact measurement, sustainability and spread
