An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quality, Improvement and Waste Reduction (QIWR) Lead at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust to join our busy Property Team within the Estates & Facilities Division.
You will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of multiple key improvement projects and programmes. This will be through both personally lead work and also support programme/project leads to deliver projects with financial or quality benefits of the EFM Budgets to the value of circa 3% to 5% per annum or as per the agreed target set centrally.
Main duties of the job
As the lead for this new role you must provide leadership for specific Quality, Improvement and Waste Reduction, EFM Programmes and improvement projects across EFM, these will be done in partnership with key senior stakeholders from Directorate Specialty teams, and supporting programme/project Leads.
Your excellent leadership and management skills will drive the QIWR Agenda for EFM and ensure that our annual targets are always delivered with focus on recurrent benefits.
As part of a small professional team you will raise the profile of the EFM QIWR programme and agenda across EFM and NUH, but will also bring to the fore with our vast range of stakeholders Therefore ensuring the delivery of the programme with the service quality required.
Your skills will also ensure that every programme /scheme is delivered in the most cost effective manner, carbon positive and always ensuring the patient care is at the fore front of everything you do.
The programme ranges over various forums and will necessitate liaison with clinical, non-clinical and EFM colleagues covering a variety of deliverables, including operational performance, financial performance, service issues, local and central reporting.

Based on the City Campus but our services based across all our sites, we promote flexible working with a blended working from home arrangement.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Quality, Improvement and Waste Reduction through EFMs Governance processes are key to improving quality, safety and value for money at our hospitals and is our thoughtful response to the challenges we face.
Specifically, the post holder will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of multiple key improvement projects and programmes. This will be through both personally leading work, and also supporting EFM programme/project leads to deliver projects.
The post holder will deliver financial or quality benefits of the EFM Budgets to the value of circa 3% to 5% per annum or whatever target is set centrally for that year.
These varied project(s) range over various forums and will necessitate liaison with clinical, non-clinical and EFM colleagues covering a variety of deliverables, including operational performance, financial performance, service issues, local and central reporting.
The post holder will provide line management for the EFM Quality, Improvement and Waste Reduction Officer ensuring effective ways of working at all times.
They will also be responsible for facilitating progress and providing practical support to the programme/project leads to take forward service improvement and new ways of working.
The post holder will support the Head of Property and liaise with EFMs SMT to ensure alignment and delivery of the goals and priorities across the wider EFM portfolio of Quality Improvement, Waste Reduction, Governance improvement work.
The post holder may also be asked to attend the Trusts Project Management Board meetings to provide updates on the programmes performance and plans for the following year.
