The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS trust plays a huge part in west Essex and east and north Hertfordshire's way of life.

The trust runs a busy hospital, The Princess Alexandra Hospital and provides services at St. Margaret's Hospital and Herts and Essex Hospital. Together serve a population of around 350,000 people.

**What you’ll be responsible for**:

- To liaise with multidisciplinary teams across the wards and monitor and convey information accurately and concisely to the ward shift leader and communicate to the patient confirmation of discharge.
- To provide written information of confirmed care agency and start dates to the patient and family
- To inform families when the patient requires transport home, if they are able to go home in a car
- To inform the ward clerks to book transport if eligible for hospital transport for confirmed discharge date home

**You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust**:

- An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
- Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
- A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

**You’ll have the following skills/experience**:

- Good verbal communication skills, with experience of dealing with patient’s anxiety in a reassuring manner.
- Excellent telephone manner.
- Computer literate, with experience of using a keyboard with a high level of accuracy.
- A team player.
