The Community Involvement function is responsible for the leadership, development and co-ordination of the trust's third sector provision; volunteering, directing the support received from individual fundraising donors and community groups. The department has a major role in the governance, operational and promotional activities of the Sherwood Forest Hospitals Charity working on behalf of the corporate trustee.

The department acts as a central point of contact for members of the public wishing to assist as a community partner. We provide a team of highly trained and supported team of volunteers at Newark Hospital to enhance and compliment services.

Our staff support and recognise the work of individual fund raisers or groups by assisting them in their activities in support of Sherwood Forest Hospitals.

The department also acts as a central point of contact for patients, carers and families to discuss any comments or issues relating to Newark Hospital.

We are looking for an organised team player with excellent customer service skills and a flexible approach to working hours to support us in this diverse but rewarding role.

To provide a welcoming and efficient reception service for the Community Involvement Department at Newark Hospital.

To provide the first point of contact for and respond to fundraising and charitable funds enquiries from members of the public and staff.

To provide assistance to individual fundraisers and community groups that support the services provided by Sherwood Forest Hospitals.

To assist with the co-ordination and support of the Sherwood Forest Hospital volunteers.

To assist with the administration and clerical support for the Community Involvement Team & Patient Experience Team (Newark site only)

The overriding purpose is to support the provision of the highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement.

- To assist with the collation of the database of supporters, donors and volunteers.
- To assist with the marketing of the community involvement services - distributing and maintaining publicity materials.
- To adhere to the organisations standards of customer care when welcoming visitors and communicating with a range of customers via face to face, telephone and written communication.
- To adhere to the trusts values and behaviours.
- To provide the administration function in support of the Community Involvement Team.
- Support the delivery of volunteer induction and mandatory training programmes.
- Complete and despatch voluntary services rotas.
- To provide support and information to our fundraising partners.
- Despatch of publicity materials relating to charitable appeals.
- Provide administrative and physical support to assist with fundraising initiatives.
- Maintain inventory of stock items and replenish as required. There are no financial responsibilities associated with this post.
- Assist with the monitoring of estates and housekeeping standards of delivery.
- Maintain and update own training relevant to post.
- All employees have an individual responsibility to have knowledge of and employ the basic principles of infection control practice and to ensure adherence to the requirements in the Infection Control Manual.
