Payroll Assistant

The key for this role is to have someone that has in depth payroll experience and can lead in the absence of the Payroll Manager, the team is very small.
**Client Details**
This is a growing client that has proven to be very successful. They are looking to expand the finance team and are wanting an experienced payroll assistant.
**Description**
- Complete the electronic payroll starter and leaver processes for staff on a weekly basis.
- Calculate and update annual holiday entitlements on our Time and Attendance system.
- Carry out the relevant reconciliation for holiday break calculations and calculate average holiday pay as necessary.
- Update employee records on the time and attendance system.
- Extract data from our time and attendance system to process weekly payroll as necessary via Sage.
- Calculate basic payments including SSP, SMP, shift allowances etc.
- Continually update your knowledge about any statutory changes in employment law relating to payroll, ensuring any changes are escalated to the Payroll Manager and implemented as necessary.
- Process pension contributions and upload the relevant data and information to our chosen providers.
- Continually update any changes in pay and employee information on Sage, by frequently reviewing the payroll tracker.
- Liaise with any outsourced / external payroll providers to support, problem solve and to ensure any queries or issues are rectified in a timely manner.
- Submit relevant Real-Time Information (RTI) reports, as necessary.
- Provide payroll reports as and when requested.
- Assist with Time and Attendance rota creation to ensure accuracy of data extraction.
- Support the Payroll Manager in uploading annual leave entitlements into the Time and Attendance system each holiday year.
- Liaise with the IT Team to rectify any problems or queries in relation to the Self-Service.
