Moving and Handling Coordinator

To Promote an ergonomic to risk assessment and in setting up safe systems of work. To Provide support and advice to staff in the handling of complex patients. To support the provision of a problem-solving service within the clinical and none Clinical Environment To implement the delivery of effective moving and handling training programmes for all staff groups within the trust, ensuring best practice is transferred to the workplace. To assess compliance and competencies through audit to ensure that moving and handling practices comply with legislative and trust policy requirements.
Professional Duties To investigate and report on adverse manual handling incidents and moving and handling complaints. To undertake moving and handling Assessments as and when required To contribute to the development of policies to support moving and handling procedures within the trust, including formulating local safe systems of work To produce and implement a plan to support the trusts strategy for managing moving and handling training programme. To establish guidelines for foreseeable problems e.g., equipment requirements, bariatric patients etc and ensure appropriate training has been delivered. To initiate audit where there is cause for concern with regards to moving and handling procedures and produce reports for managers and health and safety committee where action is necessary.
To provide the evidence-based research when required to back up audit and advice Managerial Duties There are no managerial duties required in this post Financial Duties There are no financial duties required in this post. Managing Self Participate in regular supervision Attend all mandatory training Participate annually identifying, developing and agreeing your own development plan with your line manager using the trust Appraisal process. Comply with all trust policies, procedures and protocols. Carry out duties with due regard to the trusts equal opportunity policy.
Seek advice and support from line manager whenever necessary. Maintain professional conduct always including appearance at all times.
