Inventory Materials Management Assistant

Carry out a full materials management arrangement as appropriate in accordance with established procedures and timescales, ie the moving, handling, distribution, receipting and storage of goods to the relevant stock location. To review and maintain optimum stock levels for all products to be materially managed within inventory management system areas which will include both NHSSC stock and non-stock direct from suppliers. Generate non-stock orders via iProc and process supplementary ad-hoc orders in a timely and efficient manner. Ensure correct pricing by liaising with the Specialist Inventory Team.
Undertake the receipt of non-stock deliveries from stores & prior to put away at the designated clinical area, ensure that adequate checks are made and that the delivery is correct in terms of quantity, quality and description. To take responsibility for corrective action in stock-out situations ie sourcing an alternative product, liaising with NHSSC suppliers directly, moving stock internally between clinical areas within the inventory managed areas and escalating to the Specialist Inventory Team Responsible for maintaining stock levels and rotation of locally held stock as appropriate and ensure stock does not exceed its use by date. To regularly (approximately 10 times per day) move NHS Supply Chain roll cages (up to 180kg) and boxes (up to 18kg), within ward/department areas. To work in an environment where interruptions will be encountered on a daily basis, eg where wards and departments make requests for urgently required products, which can vary between 1 and 6 different requests per day.
