Happydays UK are an expanding charity who meets the growing demands of those struggling to cope with the cost-of-living crisis by operating a broad range of services that tackle homelessness and food poverty. These include The Winter Shelter, Halifax Community Supermarket and The Community Café at The Gathering Place. For single adults who are homeless, the charity operates supported and independent accommodation and services that are designed to help residents move on and live independently.
**JOB DESCRIPTION & DUTIES**
Happy Days UK are an expanding, fast paced charity supporting adults living complex lives in Halifax. Happy Days are looking for an excellent communicator to lead the coordination of our non food donations. You will be organised, motivated, proactive and able to adapt to an ever-changing environment that can be challenging but highly rewarding. The role will be to coordinate the movement through the charity of donations of goods from a wide range of sources. Your role will also include working closely with the Operations Manager, Volunteer Manager as well as the executive team and volunteers to support the mission and goals of Happy Days UK.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Initiate new ideas to help generate contributions of donations to help our clients and residents in need of clothes, toiletries, bedding and furniture. Utilising social media etc
- Keep meticulous records, including but not limited to donors, items needed/donated, donation inventory, collections, community links and future opportunities.
- Introduce and maintain a thanking process for donors.
- Manage small teams of volunteers to collect and sort donations and move projects forward.
- Take responsibility for health and safety, including safe storage and volunteer welfare where appropriate.
- Take responsibility for move on items for residents leaving our care, as well as drop in clients on a more ad hoc basis.
- Be responsible for ensuring appropriate levels of items are maintained, reacting quickly to secure essential goods, and ensuring waste is kept to a minimum.
- Make creative use of our social media channels to promote the charity and donation needs, thank donors and forge new community links.
- Order office supplies and maintain stock levels.
- Order and maintain equipment inventories for laptops and phones.
- Be able to manage multiple projects and work in a busy environment.
- Maintaining schedules for all Charity renewals such as insurance, phone contracts and utilities.
- Accountable for Charity fleet maintaining insurance, MOT, Service, repairs, and fleet rotas.
**Please note this is not a full and exhaustive list of duties and the post holder will be required to undertake additional tasks to conduct this role appropriately and effectively.**
As travel will be necessary as part of this role it is essential you will have your own vehicle, hold a full, clean driving licence and be insured for work purposes.
Your will be required to undertake Safeguarding Level 3 training within one week of commencing the role.
Pay: £12.50 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
