**Procurement Assistant**

**Working hours**: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm

**Location**:This role is predominantly based the Orbital office (ST15 0QN)

This role reports to the Procurement Manager.

**Primary duties**
- Support the procurement department with administrative tasks to ensure that all information surrounding procurement activities is accurately logged and shared with appropriate departments / supply chain partners.
- Take responsibility for smaller value sub-category areas, working closely with the supply chain to identify areas of opportunity and value.
- Build and maintain good working relationships with suppliers.
- Request quotations from the company’s established preferred supplier list.
- Processing purchase orders to fulfil project requirements.
- Ensure all order acknowledgements are received and logged onto the system.
- Contacting suppliers to schedule and/or expedite deliveries.
- Work closely with Project and Production departments to advise on ETA’s and current product lead times.
- Maintain the database of preferred suppliers.
- Support further developments of the company's purchasing system.
- Assist with resolving any queries associated with company expenditure.

**Secondary duties**
- Support Company performance reporting.
- Review and manage Preferred Suppliers List
- Manage the return of non-conforming parts from end-to-end.

**Essential skills, experience and qualifications**
- Previous experience within Procurement environment
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
- Strong planning, organisational, analytical, communication and networking skills are required.
- Numerical and financial acumen.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to build rapport and communicate appropriately at all levels.

**Desirable skills, experience and qualifications**
- Maths and English qualifications.
- Previous administrative experience within an office environment.
- High level of computer literacy, to include SAP, MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Strong organisational and administration skills.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £20,000.00-£22,000.00 per year
