Band 6 Structured Clinical Management Practitioner - Chapel Street Clinic. Chichester

Are you a qualified practitioner who is looking to develop their skills in psychological interventions?

Would you be interested in becoming part of and making a key contribution to a new and innovative pathway for clients with complex emotional difficulties (CED).

Would you like the opportunity to develop Chichester's first dedicated Structured Clinical Management (SCM) practitioner role?

If the answer is yes then we want to hear from you

The Chichester Assessment and Treatment Service is committed to improving the care pathway for those with complex emotional needs and this post is a pivotal step in our continued development of the CED pathway and provision within the Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. If you can support us with our mission to develop a clinically excellent pathway, we will support you to develop your clinical skills in this exciting field

Structured Clinical Management is an evidenced based approach that enables mental health practitioners to work effectively with people with difficulties related to complex emotional needs who may receive a diagnosis of EUPD / BPD. With increasing awareness and commitment to offer a consistent, coherent and a reliable approach to this client group, we are looking to recruit a qualified practitioner who will work solely within an SCM framework.

You will join a well-established Recovery Service which serves a diverse population. You will lead on providing assessments, one to one and group interventions for SCM and will benefit from having a capped caseload of SCM clients. You will work closely with and be supported by the local CED co-ordinator and team leaders and will attend and play an active role in the local SCM supervision group. It is not expected that you have previous experience of SCM as training will be provided. Training will also be provided on providing supervision for the SCM group. There will also be opportunities to develop psychological skills via further training in interventions planned for the CED pathway (e.g. DBT) as well as being involved in audits and service development.

We are looking for someone who has a keen interest and experience of working with this client group. Someone who is resilient, self-aware, has an ability to be reflective about their practice. You will be committed to improving the lives of people with complex emotional difficulties. You will already be a qualified practitioner (RMN, Social worker, Occupational therapist) who has experience of working with complex service users.

**What you will receive from us**:

- We are a friendly and supportive team that meets regularly to ensure you feel safe and supported.
- We offer several MDT meetings per week to ensure support is available for complex case discussions.
- You will receive regular managerial supervision and be offered the opportunity to supervise junior staff.
- You will also have access to regular clinical supervision and support from our Community Leads
- We actively encourage people to think about their development and career goals, and will support you to complete further training.

We encourage flexible working. We know that a positive work/ life balance brings about huge health-related benefits, which has a positive impact on the care we provide. Please speak to us about flexible working, for example, home-working, part time hours, flexible start/ finish times or anything else. If it works for you and works for the role, we'll do our best to make it happen.

To protect the health and safety of our staff/workers, patients, and those attending our sites, we encourage our workforce to get fully vaccinated against COVID.

To support the implementation of the SCM pathway for clients with complex emotional difficulties, including clients with a diagnosis of Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD).

To manage a capped caseload and deliver interventions which align to the SCM framework i.e. Assessment phase, stabilization phase and intervention phase

To work collaboratively with clients to develop a shared understanding / formulation of needs. To hold a supportive and collaborative therapeutic stance to support clients to take a problem-solving approach.

To support the delivery of the SCM problem solving group or similar psychological intervention for clients with complex emotional difficulties.

To attend and participate in regular SCM supervision.

To work as a role model to other staff, supporting the delivery of evidence-based interventions to clients with symptoms linked to complex emotional difficulties.

To advocate for clients who have complex emotional difficulties. To promote collaborative working with carers, supporting a joint partnership and engagement in care planning as agreed with clients

To maintain up to date care plans, crisis plans, crisis and continuity plans that are developed and uploaded collaboratively with clients
