This role involves supporting cohorts of apprentices from the start of their apprenticeship through to successful completion. The post holder will be required to take ownership for the apprentices within their case load, to ensure each apprentice makes the most of all learning opportunities and progresses towards timely completion of their programme.

The post holder will be expected to work closely with other Community Matters apprenticeship team members to promote best practice and maintain and co-operate in any staff development activities.

A key part of this role is that the post holder will be able to self-manage their case load and support apprentices to meet key milestones on the programme in a timely manner. You will be able to work from home, but there is an expectation to visit employers from time to time.

An expert knowledge on apprenticeships delivery, including how to tutor and assess apprentices and prepare them to their end point assessments is essential. The post holder should also either have or work towards an appropriate qualification. There are many different qualifications that are suitable to be an apprenticeship tutor and assessor, including;
- Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement or equivalent
- PTTLS (Preparing to Teach in Lifelong Learning Sector)
- RQF (Regulated Qualifications Framework) Level 3 Award in Education and Training
- RQF Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment
- RQF Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training
- RQF Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training
- D32 Assess Learner Performance and D33 Assess Learner Using Different Sources of Evidence

The post holder will report to the Apprenticeship Delivery Manager and ensure that the apprenticeship training is delivered in line with Community Matters’ quality standards, responding to employer needs, demands and expectations. Previous experience of apprenticeship programmes, curriculum development, delivering education and training, and an understanding of compliance requirements are essential.

The key responsibilities of this role are:

- Support the development and regular revision of a curriculum that responds to apprenticeship standards and relevant knowledge, skills and behaviours (KSBs).
- Support the programme build on our e-portfolio system, including identifying modules that will be delivered, task sheets, learning resources and other materials.
- Develop rich teaching and learning activities that may be delivered online or face to face to apprentices.
- Take part in all onboarding processes such as providing advice and guidance on the apprenticeship process to apprentices and their employing organisation, agreeing individual learning plans, conducting skills assessments, preparing and reviewing of additional learning support action plans.
- Manage and monitor apprentices and their e-portfolios and identify actions and interventions required to ensure alignment with appropriate procedures.
- Mark apprentices work in a timely manner; provide constructive, developmental, clear and comprehensive feedback that identifies positive aspects of each piece of work submitted by the apprentice, as well as areas that needs to be improved.
- Maintain compliance with apprenticeship rules regarding monthly activity with apprentices monitoring progress and escalating apprentice performance issues to Apprenticeship Delivery Manager.
- Establish and maintain contact with each apprentices’ line manager, ensuring they are fully involved in the delivery of the apprenticeship.
- Organise and hold 12 weekly progress reviews with the employer and the learner and ensure all aspects of the review is completed and signed off by the learner and the employer.
- Contribute to all quality assurance processes such as standardisation meetings, external reviews by Awarding Organisations, OFSTED visits and inspections/ ESFA data collation requirements.
- Preparing learners for the end point assessment and monitoring progress from Gateway to completion.
- Support learners in gaining relevant functional skills in Maths and English
- Actively promote equality, inclusion and diversity in all aspects of work for Community Matters
