**Job summary**:
In DHSC, we are proud of our purpose - to enable everyone to live more independent, healthier lives for longer. To achieve this, and create a great place to work, we have four values: we are inclusive, we constantly improve, we challenge, and we are agile. If this sounds like an environment you would like to work in, we would love to hear from you.

Adult Social Care in England is a £25+ billion sector, touching the lives of millions of people. It is one of the country’s biggest public services, and is critical to a well-functioning NHS. It is also facing significant challenges, and is never far from the headlines.

The government has ambitious plans for transforming the sector, backed by billions of new funding. We are driving improvements in the capacity and capability of the workforce, how care is commissioned, the support given to unpaid carers, how technology is integrated into services, and how we ensure the quality of services. Over the next few years, the Social Care Group in DHSC will design and implement policies in all of these areas and more, defining the experience of millions of people drawing on or providing care and support.

The ASC Group is recruiting for a range of stretching Grade 7 posts across a variety of areas, including
- Preparing for Next Spending Review
- Energy Disruption
- Hospital Discharge
- Data Strategy and Policy

**Job description**:
We are looking to recruit several G7 policy advisors. The roles sit across several teams in the ASC Group, including
- **
Spending Review - **The next SR is a critical milestone for many of the reforms we are making to the care sector. We’re looking for an organised and enthusiastic individual to lead a programme of work to combine the work going on across the Group into a compelling Spending Review case which will put us in the best possible place to secure funding for the next stage of adult social care reform. This work will involve lots of engagement with; stakeholders across the department, other government departments (particularly DLUHC and HMT), local government and care providers. The future of adult social care is a ministerial priority and this post holder will need to be able to drive forward a complex agenda that is likely to attract significant amounts of ministerial engagement. Beyond the SR this position has a central role in the strategic thinking across the group on the future of social care and providing expert advice on how to use funding to influence behaviours in the sector.
- **
Discharge** - Reducing the number of people who are in hospital but have no medical need to be there is a key priority for the Prime Minister and Secretary of State. The Hospital Discharge Programme is responsible for reducing delays in hospital discharge to improve outcomes for patients and maximise hospital capacity and flow. We have vacancies in two of our teams within Social Care Group. The Policy team is responsible for identifying challenges which can slow down the time taken for somebody to be discharged, and developing sustainable policy solutions to these challenges. The Discharge System Oversight and Support team works directly with local health/care systems with the most challenging discharge problems - to help them develop robust improvement plans and support them to remain focused on delivering those plans.
- **
Data Strategy **- Embrace the pivotal role of data and technology in our mission to transform Adult Social Care. Historically, we've lacked real-time data, impeding our ability to proactively enhance innovation and address sector challenges. While the pandemic offered valuable insights, we still have much to discover about how the system delivers care to those in need and their families. Our ambitious program, outlined in the adult social care data strategy - Care Data Matters - will not only supercharge our reform efforts but also drive the integration of health and social care data, forming the bedrock of integrated care systems. Join our team as a G7 Strategy and Data Lead and be a driving force behind this transformative journey.

Market Oversight & Risk** - A viable care market is essential to ensuring care is a
