About the Role

The Local Government Association is seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Adult Social Care Advisor. This role will involve working closely with local authorities to provide support and guidance on the Care Quality Commission's (CQC) assessment process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with local authorities to arrange direct support and manage contractors as needed
  • Steer processes to ensure timely and high-quality support
  • Develop and implement new types of support to respond to changing needs
  • Work closely with Care and Health Improvement Advisors and ADASS regional colleagues to synthesise information and devise new support strategies
Requirements
  • Experience of adult social care within local government
  • Strong relationship and influencing skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work in a high-profile position
  • Comfortable working independently and managing a diverse workload
What We Offer

The postholder can choose to work from home or in our office in Westminster. There may be occasional need to travel to London or elsewhere in England.

About You

You will bring the understanding, experience and drive necessary to make a significant impact. You will have a genuine interest in the evolving CQC processes and be able to adapt and 'think on your feet' as changes in process and the pace of the Programme of assessment quickens.

We are looking for someone who is confident and professional, but not afraid to ask questions, equally comfortable with detail and more strategic planning.
