**Purpose of the job**

Reporting into a Senior Travel Underwriter, you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for managing the underwriting performance of one of the UK’s largest travel insurance portfolios and tasked with growing Collinson’s travel insurance business globally.

The role holder is expected to support the work with several teams across the business including Commercial Account Management, Compliance, and claims operations, to evolve our products to drive profitable growth.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Answer referrals received from clients or Operational and Technical Claims, over cover queries through managing the referral inbox within agreed service level response times.
- Update and maintain the underwriting referral guide, required for regulatory and consistency purposes.
- Support Underwriters to create, develop and enhance products with a strong focus on customer need, and which meet fair value and compliance requirements.
- Assist Underwriters in continuous improvement of policy wordings, using feedback from internal and external stakeholders where required.
- Work closely with the Claims and Assistance teams to be part of the team developing a continuous learning loop, using root cause analysis to improve, taking loss trends into consideration.
- Review client sales journeys against regulatory / Consumer Duty requirements and provide recommendations to improve the process where necessary to the scheme Underwriter and Commercial Account Manager.
- Support the Commercial Team function to develop solid working relationships with the key distribution partners, showing a true understanding of their business need.
- Complete competitor benchmarking analysis looking at cover provided, structure of product and sales channel, providing feedback to the wider Underwriting and Commercial team through regular reporting.
- Follow all relevant and required necessary internal and regulatory governance processes.
- Work in a high-performance culture helping underwriters to deliver against goals effectively, and ensure learnings are shared and leveraged.

**Regulatory responsibilities**
- Adhere to the FCA’s Conduct rules and the Firm’s code of conduct
- Undertake all regulatory training as prescribed by the company and comply with all policies relevant to your role
- Immediately report any known conflicts of interest in line with company policy
- Satisfy on an ongoing basis the company’s fit and proper requirements which as a minimum shall take account of your:

- Honesty, integrity and reputation
- Competence and capability
- Financial soundness

**Knowledge, skills and experience required**

**Experience**
- Minimum of 2 years within the travel insurance/assistance sector, preferably in UK and European markets
- Medical knowledge would be an advantage
- Knowledge of governance process controls
- Experience in a fast-paced and developing environment
- Experience in juggling different tasks/projects and priorities within an organisation with mult
