Cambridge, United Kingdom University of Cambridge Full time

**About the Role**

The Knowledge Exchange (KE) Coordinator, working directly with the Newton Gateway Manager, will promote the activities of the Newton Gateway to Mathematics through delivery of existing programmes, such as our Open for Business events, which are linked to the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences programmes, the Innovate UK Analysis for Innovators (A4I) programme and the EU-MATHS-IN network. The KE Coordinator will play a strong part in developing and growing new initiatives to increase stakeholder engagement.

**The Institute and the Newton Gateway to Mathematics**

The Newton Gateway to Mathematics is the impact initiative of the INI and acts as a knowledge intermediary for the mathematical sciences. Supported by INI and the University of Cambridge, the Newton Gateway to Mathematics reaches out to and engages with the users of mathematics
- in industry, business, public sector and other scientific disciplines. It helps to bridge the gap between those engaged in frontier mathematical research and those working in more applied areas, by stimulating the interchange of knowledge and ideas.

The KE Coordinator will be an integral part of a team of five staff working within the Newton Gateway to Mathematics.

The INI is committed to staff development and encourages staff to participate in the wide range of personal and professional development activities offered by the University.

**What you will need**

In this role, you will execute the aims and objectives of the Newton Gateway by drawing on your experience of knowledge exchange activities. You will have a first degree, or equivalent, with a proven record of administrative or project management experience, which will ideally have been in a research-related role and in an academic/public sector environment. The nature of the role means that you will be engaging with a wide-range of people, so you should have strong and versatile communications skills that will enable you to work closely with academics and individuals from government, business and industry, as well as the team of operations staff across both the Newton Gateway and INI. You will have proven negotiating and problem-solving skills, and be able to work under pressure, including to tight deadlines. You will be able to respond flexibly and sensitively to the needs of others, particularly due to the close working relationships you will develop within the team.

**How to apply**

The University has a responsibility to ensure that all employees are eligible to live and work in the UK.
