The Margaret Anstee Centre for Global Studies (“MAC”) was founded in 2018 at Newnham College through a legacy from Dame Margaret Anstee, a graduate of the College, and the first woman Under-Secretary General of the United Nations. The MAC promotes research into economic and social development and/or international relations, in or relating to the Global South. We seek to hire a talented and creative **Knowledge Exchange Officer**, with experience of engaging general publics, media, civil society organisations, policy makers, scholarly communities, and/or other external audiences. You will take a pro-active role working within a Centre that is committed to supporting Newnham’s Governing Body in making a difference and in translating their scholarship into impactful engagement with specialist and general audiences, particularly across the UK and the Global South.

The Knowledge Exchange Officer will work with Margaret Anstee Fellows, as well as the wider Newnham Governing Body, Postgraduate Affiliates, and Postgraduate students, to catalyse and leverage their research in economic and social development and/or international relations, in order to promote knowledge exchange, impact and change. This post will also work with the MAC Director and Fellows to establish the MAC’s public engagement programming, including seminars, training workshops, professional development programmes, and an annual lecture. This will entail coordination and cooperation with the College’s Communication Department.

**This is a fixed term post, initially for 3 years and with the possibility of an extension, offered either on a full-time basis or part-time basis working a minimum of 30 hours per week (0.8 of full-time equivalent - FTE). The salary is paid at point 40 on the University’s single salary spine, currently £34,980 per annum for full-time and £27,984 pro rata for an 0.8 FTE contract. The College offers range of additional benefits to employees including membership of the USS pension scheme, with a current employer contribution rate of 21.6%. Holiday entitlement is 33 days per year (inclusive of bank holidays), and other benefits include a free meal when on duty, free car parking where available and free use of the College’s gym facilities.**

The successful applicant will be educated to degree level in a relevant social sciences, humanities or communications discipline, preferably but not essentially, hold a PhD and have previous experience in public engagement and translation of scholarship for broader consumption.
