**Exciting Opportunity - Product Lead**

As the company grows, we need to continue to evolve both our existing and new product offerings. To support this, the company is expanding the existing product team to better meet the needs of the shareholders who rely on the products/services within those workstreams.

Job Title: Product Lead

**Salary**: £37.5k - £42.5k Per Annum

Hours: Full-Time

Responsible To: Head of Product

**About us**

SalamanderSoft currently consists of 35 employees, 2 of whom are product staff, with 2 more being recruited in February 2024 (This being one of them). We are a growing company that has tripled in size over the past few years. Our ethos is to provide excellent service to our customers and to be the best at what we do. This is reflected in the fact that all our sales are via word of mouth/recommendations - we do not yet have a sales team, and we are still growing strongly.

We have a great reputation with our customers and are looking to grow the team that supports them and continue to improve where we can.

**The Products Team**

The products team have ownership of all SalamanderSoft’s products alongside the continued day-to-day running and development of our largest contract, which is with a Government.

The team are defining SalamanderSoft’s products in line with the company's vision and strategy of these products. They coordinate with all company departments and stakeholders, ensuring that all shareholders across the group are having their needs met and managing their expectations.

**Who we are looking for**:
The Product Lead will help define SalamanderSoft’s products alongside the vision and strategy of these products. They will coordinate with all company departments and stakeholders to ensure that deadlines are achievable and met, and that the products are meeting stakeholder's needs. It is expected that the Product Lead will have a technical background and have experience working with technical teams and solutions, but also have good communication skills as managing shareholder expectations across the group is essential.

Although they won’t have direct reports, they will be responsible for managing the output of team members from both the product team and the development team.

Given the scope of the team, it will be important that the Product Lead works closely with the Head of Product, Head of Development, Head of Operations, Managing Director and any other stakeholders to ensure that our products move in the right direction.

As this is a remote role you will need a suitable area for working in your home, a broadband connection and probably a kettle.

This is very much a people-focused role, and regular contact with the team via Phone/Video call and the like will be essential.

With technology being such as fast-moving field, we would expect you to have a thirst for knowledge and be keen to improve your skills, with a proven track record of doing so.

**What you will be doing**

You will help define SalamanderSoft’s products alongside the vision and strategy of these products. They will coordinate with all company departments and stakeholders to ensure that deadlines are achievable and met, and that the products are meeting stakeholder's needs.

**Responsibilities**:

- Be accountable for the work undertaken by the company for our products, ensuring that all shareholders across the group are having their needs met and managing their expectations.
- Develop and implement a long-term strategy for making our current products, one single product.
- Manage project spending within a pre-defined budget.
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather and define product requirements.
- Ensure the products meet quality standards and user expectations.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and competitor offerings to identify opportunities for innovation.
- Ensure the performance of those working on the products, including ensuring conduct and communications are in line with the company’s ethos.
- Ensure any processes or procedures are documented and freely available to all appropriate members of the company and any other stakeholders.
- Design and deliver appropriate handover content for new features added to any products to ensure that the team(s) delivering services using the products.
