**Housing Choices Advisor**

We are looking for someone to join our Housing Choices Team to help the team prevent homelessness. You will be providing first-line support to people seeking advice, undertaking initial assessments to identify customer needs and ensuring that customers can access appropriate support to help them address their housing needs. We are looking for someone with an understanding of the range of housing options that are available to people who may be at risk of becoming homeless, including the operation of the Choice Based Lettings scheme.

The job is a combination of working from home and the office and may involve undertaking some home visits to help with the investigations of homeless cases and to carry out settling in visits to people placed in housing in the private rented sector.

You need to have knowledge of the relevant housing and homelessness legislation, but more important is your ability to listen carefully and treat customers fairly and with empathy. We pride ourselves on providing a quality and customer sensitive service and it is essential that you can demonstrate impartiality and consistency in dealing with customers.
- 36.25 hrs per week with an annual salary of £26,421 - £29,777
