An opportunity has arisen for the role of Sales Manager at Exeter at our clients site based in Exeter reporting to the Plant Manager.
The main purpose of the role is to serve as a key contact for both customer and plant management for all
issues relating to the customer delivering on requirements within a compliant and profitable framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Develops mutually beneficial business relationships with assigned customers and provide high level customer service in order to maintain current and generate new business.
- Manages and coordinates account activities within the customer's portfolio according to company guidelines. This includes; developing annual sales plan and monthly demand forecast to support production plan to meet customer requirements; managing and processingpurchase orders and change orders; managing the quotation process; and resolving and/or advancing customer concerns and open items.
- Enforces (and negotiates where applicable and as directed by Account Managers and ultimately the segment Commercial Leader) commercial items such as pricing, changes to shipping schedules, changes to the manufacturing process and product design, accountsreceivables, etc.
- Participates in formulating, maintaining and communicating customer projects such as cost reduction programs, scorecard reviews and quarterly management meetings.
- Coordinates initial delivery commitments with production planning and manufacturing. Communicates initial delivery commitments and routine updates to the customer and assists in establishing recovery plans and solving delivery related issues.
- Whilst acting as the primary point of contact between manufacturing, sales and the customer, the CSM will co-ordinate with our commercial organisation in preparation of long
- term contracts, complex quotes, budgets and long
- range capacity planning, whilstproviding product portfolio strategy development, demand planning management, budgeting and monthly forecasts
- Responsible for the team of Plant based Sales Representatives who in turn are responsible for the day to day communication with the customer relating to new and existing quotations, delivery commitments, cost reduction activities, timescales audits, testingcompliance and certifications.
**Requirements**:

- Degree and/or four plus years of experience within a manufacturing company.
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience in using main frame programs preferred (Oracle would be advantageous)
- Experience with Machining, Finishing, Casting or within the Aerospace Industry
- Ability to conceptualize product configurations and understand highly technical concepts.
- Knowledge of import/export controls
