**Job Description**:
Our consultants have outstanding credentials, first-class connections with key energy and mining industry decision-makers globally and an unrivalled knowledge of global, regional and local markets. We deliver advice that is based on real substance.

Our client base is dynamic, varied and offers a young consultant the opportunity to work in projects across several traditional parts of the energy industry and as well with clients actively pursuing the energy transition and new alternative fuels.

**Role Purpose**

**Main Responsibilities**

**Analysis**
- Supporting the consulting teams on a range of consulting projects, particularly through operation of sophisticated internal models and creating and developing new analyses
- Contributing towards the content and format of consulting presentations and reports
- Extracting data from internal and external sources such as databases, websites and Wood Mackenzie products
- Demonstrate high standards of professionalism and attention to detail to ensure the highest quality analysis is delivered
- Proactively take ownership of project workstreams with the ability to defend work to clients and consulting team peers in a coherent, credible and authoritative manner

- Actively takes part in brainstorming
- Offers solutions to problems and challenges the status quo
- Suggests alternatives and thinks “outside the box”

**Communication**
- Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills, both internally and externally

- Keep client and internal teams informed of progress constantly
- Ability to present clearly and concisely to clients and colleagues

- Demonstrate the ability to plan and prioritize own workload to ensure project objectives and targets are met

**Teamwork**
- Proven effective cross team working skills and mind set, being able to work in an open and trusting way across the broader consulting, research and sales teams in Wood Mackenzie
- Adopt a flexible approach towards work
- Support the wider consulting practice development by working with colleagues to understand what new offerings can be taken to clients
- Provide inputs to the development of consulting best practice, offerings and strategy

**Qualifications**:

- You should have a passion for delivering quality service to clients and thrive in a collaborative, commercial and client-centric environment. You have a desire to grow your capabilities and enjoy working as part of a project team where you can deepen your industry knowledge and consulting skills
- An understanding of the energy sector, industry dynamics, commercial operations, business models and strategies would be beneficial
- Good analytical skills - you are comfortable with data and modelling
- Strong attention to detail
- Competent in using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint to run analysis and communicate messages to your audience
- Effective communication skills - you can deliver messages and explain complex or technical information in a coherent, authoritative, and engaging manner
- Strong interpersonal skills - you like working with people and can work well on a project team
- A curious and commercial mindset - you are keen to learn and understand things from a client’s point of view
- The ability to work autonomously, deliver to a deadline and adapt to changes
- Ideally experience, in a consulting environment in the energy sector, perhaps with experience in valuation, corporate strategy, market entry strategy and financial modelling
- Knowledge of Mandarin and/or other Asian languages is advantageous
