WMG are looking for a motivated Careers and Employability professional to join our busy Education Professional Services team.

You will be responsible for delivering a range of careers and employability related events, support systems and opportunities for our international full time Master’s programme.

This is a key post and presents an exciting opportunity to make a difference. You must be highly organised, and possess excellent communication skills with the ability to build and develop relationships with employers and industry contacts. You must have relevant previous experience of event management and ideally have had some experience of careers support.

The 12 month full time MSc programmes have an annual intake of around 1200 students, across 14 courses. This is a large international student body with high expectations, who have a limited time to engage with careers and employability support, therefore this will be a busy and challenging role. The ability to determine priorities and identify new and changing needs is essential.

**JOB PURPOSE**:
To organise and promote careers and employability services, such as events, advice, promotion of placements and job opportunities to WMG students. To gather and build databases of information on both employers and destination of graduates for the department.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**1. Events Management**
- Devise, plan, manage and operationally deliver a portfolio of careers and employability events for WMG FT Master’s students, for example skills sessions, alumni careers talks, employer led presentations, networking events, careers fairs, information sessions regarding visas, working overseas, doctoral study etc.
- Where relevant, work with Student Opportunity: Careers or other University departments to deliver joint events.
- Build relationships with Student Opportunity: Careers, with the aim that WMG student needs are heard and catered for within central provision.
- Work with Teaching and Learning Officer (Student Experience) on departmental events, particularly induction and orientation week, end of year celebrations and graduation event. Attend and assist with industrial visits,or career exhibitions where relevant with a view to identifying and utilising recruitment opportunities for our students and alumni.

**2. Employer Engagement**
- Source, research and identify a diverse range of international employers likely to be interested in recruiting WMG FT Master’s students with an aim to advertise regular and relevant job opportunities or student placements to our student and alumni community.
- Build, and maintain a database of employer contacts with a view to proactively promoting WMG graduates as a potential applicant pool.
- Engage with alumni across the world (electronically) to identify job opportunities for WMG FT Master’s graduates.
- Source, research and identify opportunities for internships and placements, both within WMG and externally, with an aim to providing opportunities for students across all our MSc courses. Build and nurture relationships with employers willing to take short term placements or internships, with a view to repeating the process annually. Liaise with HR in order to comply with legal and company requirements. Communicate and advertise internship/placement opportunities to student cohort. Gather feedback from students and employers to improve processes for future.

**3. Student and Alumni communication**
- Act as principal point of contact for students regarding careers and employability, gather intelligence and information regarding student expectations and working to deliver this wherever feasible.
- Deliver information, advice and guidance to students in a ‘one to many’ manner, especially through a variety of online media channels. Maintain, update and refresh a collection of careers and employability materials, both hard and soft copy for students to utilise.
- Maintain, develop and regularly update the WMG Careers Moodle pages and Student Portal.
- Market the University’s Student Opportunity:Careers services to WMG FT Master’s students.
- Work in close consultation to WMG’s Teaching and Learning Officer (Student Experience) to plan, manage and deliver communications, events and activities for current students and alumni to ensure effective, efficient and joined up messages.
- Attend SSLC meetings periodically (some of which may take place in the evening).

**4. Administration**
- In liaison with the University Student Opportunity team, gather data on careers destinations of graduates with a view to providing accurate and up to date information of likely careers an
