**The Role**
Quotient Sciences is hiring an Accounts Payable Assistant to work as a part of a small and highly efficient team to complement our highly regarded finance department.
This is a fixed term, 12 month contract based at the Nottingham site with flexibility of hybrid working.
**Main tasks and responsibilities**
- Manage the Accounts Payable work load.
- Scan and post supplier invoices Invoices/Credit notes onto computerised accounting system.
- Reconcile supplier statements to purchase ledger accounts and investigating discrepancies
- Running Aged Creditors report and checking debit balance accounts/unpaid balances
- Producing suggested payment reports for review
- Processing the supplier payment runs on the accounting system and on bank
- Deal with purchase ledger queries in a timely and accurate fashion
- Ensure all Invoices / Credit notes / transactions are on system by close of period each month and produce accruals list for the company
- Monitoring inbox and incoming mail
- Post supplier payments from bank statements and update DD schedule
- Any other adhoc duties that fall within the scope of the role
**Experience**
- 2 years minimum experience working within an accounts department with a thorough understanding of how the Purchase Ledger works.
- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels, including staff, clients and suppliers
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and also pay close attention to detail.
- Adaptable and flexible approach to work
- Accurate keyboard skills
- Knowledge of accounting software packages (FinancialForce/Access Dimensions/FocalPoint) an advantage but not necessary as full training will be given.
- Must be self-motivated and able to organise and manage their work load within an extremely busy accounts department.
- Experience of working with foreign currencies/US suppliers an advantage
