The School of Medical and Health Sciences at Bangor University is looking to appoint a part-time research officer to support the conduct of a Social Return on Investment analysis within a Value-Based Healthcare Study. In addition the post holder will be required to provide support for other aspects of the study. The study contributes to the portfolio of the National Centre for Population Health & Wellbeing Research in Wales. The post holder could develop a mix of virtual and in person working with team members.

The Value-Based Healthcare study explores the use of Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) in four tracer conditions (Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, cataract surgery and heart failure) in Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. Realist evaluation will be used to explore the relationship between contexts, mechanisms, and outcomes to identify what works, for whom, and in what circumstances about the use of PROMs in Value-Based Healthcare. Social Return on Investment (SROI) analysis will be used to value the change that completing PROMs make to the outcomes that matter to people involved in delivering and receiving the services.

The National Centre for Population Health & Wellbeing Research, funded by the Welsh Government through Health and Care Research Wales, brings together a world-class team of researchers, statisticians and data analysts from the Universities of Swansea, Cardiff, and Bangor alongside Public Health Wales to understand, evaluate and inform population health Improvements.

A PhD (or near completion) in health economics, health services research, social or behavioural sciences is essential.

The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post.

The successful applicant will, when appropriate, be required to travel for conducting fieldwork and project meetings and events.
