School of Medical and Health Sciences

The Interprofessional School of Medical and Health Sciences is the focus for medical and healthcare education and research at Bangor University. The School offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, short courses for healthcare and allied professionals, as well as a range of medical research opportunities.

Purpose of the Job

This post within the College of Human Sciences is to provide an administrative service, engaging and completing a range of routine tasks to meet operational and customer service requirements. The primary focus of the role is to support the recruitment and admissions to the medicine programme and the role holder is supervised by the Administrative Officer for that programme.

Main

**Responsibilities**:
Generic Duties
- Work closely with the Academic Admissions Lead and the Administrative Officer to ensure the provision of a flexible and responsive service.- Develop effective collaborative working relationships with the School, College and across the wider University as well as with external stakeholders in order to develop best practice.- To contribute to the development and embedding of new workflows and working practices within the team.Specific Functional Duties
- Administer the recruitment, admissions and external stakeholder engagement processes for the medicine programme in close liaison with colleagues and partner organisations.- Undertake the School organisation and administration of medicine applicant interviews; recruitment of interviewers and staff / students, co-ordinating the questions, facilitating the interviews.- Undertake the School organisation and administration of medicine recruitment events; collaborating with colleagues to develop medicine event programmes, recruiting staff / students to support events and allocating roles.- Arrange conferences, workshops, widening access events and meetings, including taking formal minutes when required.- Maintain an annual schedule of key recruitment events and admissions dates.- Produce and distribute programme and admissions information material for stakeholders.- Work as part of a team to support the wide-ranging administration of the medicine programme curriculum and assessments ensuring that core support services are maintained.- As part of the administration team supporting medicine, there is the expectation that you will participate in events that fall within the remit of the team, including but not restricted to exams, graduation and recruitment and admissions events and that some of these events will involve working outside of normal working hours / days.The above-mentioned duties and responsibilities are indicative and are not intended to be exhaustive.

Duties and responsibilities may be varied following discussion with the post holder and may include temporary support for other School and College programmes.
