Discovery Analytical (DA) require a part time maternity cover position to support the implementation of a new capability to enable high throughput analysis for the direct to biology (D2B) workflows. Additionally, the position will support the maintenance and troubleshooting of analytical and preparative open access LCMS platforms, plus other ad hoc biochemical mass spectrometry support as required.

In this role you will
- Set up an Agilent RapidFire TOF MS platform to ensure it is fit for purpose to support high throughput chemistry. The role will involve collaboration with multiple project stakeholders to ensure successful deployment. You will providing ongoing support and training for GSK and Perkin Elmer staff in the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of the platform.
- Support open access analytical and preparative LCMS equipment, provide troubleshooting, maintenance and training for new GSK staff and more in-depth training for Perkin Elmer staff.
- Provide LC-TOF support for established platform.
- Additional ad-hoc support for existing RapidFire triple quadrupole MS platforms dedicated to Screening, Profiling and Molecular Biology (SPMB).

Qualifications & Skills:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

- PhD in Chemistry/BioChemistry
- The position requires a highly skilled mass spectrometry expert with experience of single/triple quadrupole and Time of Flight (TOF) mass spectrometers.
- The applicant must have prior experience with the operation of Agilent RapidFire platforms and be proficient in the setup, validation and troubleshooting of the equipment. As the position requires the development of a new capability the applicant must be able to engage with the equipment vendor as appropriate to solve instrument and/or software issues.
- Experience of analytical and preparative open access LCMS system is required and a thorough understanding of chromatography to help troubleshoot any issues.
