This is a new role in our Pre-Analytics Management Structure. The role of Network Pre Analytics Lead Supervisor will hall special responsibility fo all elements of the Phlebotomy Service at UHCW, SWUFT and the bleed centres that they support.

The post will work closely with The Pre Analytics Service Lead for GEH and Rugby STX and also the Pre Analytics Lead Supervisor for Specimen Reception.

They will be responsible for all operational elements of phlebotomy on their sites, they will be responsible for the quality agenda and training agenda for their sites.

The practices and methodologies of UHCWi. You are expected, where identified, to attend and complete relevant training and development opportunities to support this. This may include Lean for Leaders, Advanced Lean Training, and the Human Factors Programme, amongst others. Full attendance and completion of identified courses is considered essential and a pre requisite for this post.

**1. Operational Management**:

- Under the direction of Pre Analytic Section Managers, administer resources in a defined area and be responsible for the operational management and performance of those staff and services.
- Ensure adequate cover for service, enabling efficient and effective delivery of services across network
- Contribute towards capacity planning, objective setting and audit management of the service
- Ensure clear communication systems are in place.
- Contribute to management of Trust KPI including management of risks
- Participate in the investigation of incidents and complaints providing clear action plans to reduce or eliminate reoccurrence.

**2. Human resource**:

- Develop effective working relationships with managers and staff and appropriate external representatives, delivering team morale and motivation through effective personal leadership
- Develop and appraise staff in line with the Trust Performance Development Review (PDR) framework, ensuring staff work towards the aims and objectives of the division and Trust, including addressing performance issues as required
- Ensure that all HR policies are observed and adhered to
- Responsible for the recruitment and selection of staff within the division as appropriate
- Complete all the necessary paperwork and maintain communications with Human Resources Department regarding personnel issues.
- Maintain the personal files of defined staff

**3. Service improvement**:

- Assist with the development of an annual programme of quality improvement, incorporating project plans, objectives and any other business priorities of the section into an Annual Management Review (AMR)
- Joint responsibility for leading modernisation initiatives in conjunction with the Pre-analytic Managers
- Participate in user engagement around quality improvement projects
- Assist with service improvement and change management. including staff responsibility and administrative requirements
- Review performance management across section, working with colleagues to embed a culture of continual assessment and improvement

**4. Managing Resources/Financial Control**:

- Delegated responsibility for management of pay and non pay budgets in accordance with divisional and Trust policies in order for the division to remain in budget.
- Ensure staffing is maintained to agreed establishment, performing recruitment process as appropriate to Trust policies.
- Contribute to opportunities for income generation or cost improvement
- Comply with Trust standing financial instruction and standing orders
