The Quality System Lead is responsible for for the Datix management system at UHCW ensuring that the system is upgraded as required as well as implementing the new LFPSE system for reporting incidents. The role ensures the system for managing risk is up to date and any service requests on Datix to enhance risk management are completed.

As part of PSIRF implementation, the role is responsible for developing and implementing LFPSE at UHCW.

The lead is required to have significant experience and training in managing a Datix system.

The lead is also responsible for developing and maintaining our risk system and DCIQ mortality module.

The lead is responsible for producing and analysing large volumes of data and presenting this both to staff and executives in different formats.

Line management of the Quality Data Team.

- Contributes to the effective integration of patient safety/clinical risk with other quality, governance and accountability programmes and functions.
- Supports Trust responses to external bodies e.g., CAS alerts and the submission of evidence as required for accreditation purposes.
- Supports the Patient Safety Manager to achieve appropriate standards within the CQC (or relevant external bodies) regulations ensuring that robust evidence is in place to demonstrate compliance.
- To ensure that the Trust works towards meeting its legislative requirements, external standards, and the Trust corporate objective

Communication
- Liaises with the Director & Associate Directors of Quality, Patient Safety Manager, Programme & Performance Management Office (PPMO), Group Directors of Operations, Clinical Directors, Modern Matrons, Heads of Departments and Ward Managers, highlighting areas of concern in relation to performance and identifying possible causes and solutions to problems.
- External: ICB, NRLS and NHSE.
- The post holder provides and receives confidential and sensitive information.
- The post holder will be required to provide and receive complex and/or sensitive information using communication and negotiating skills to overcome barriers to understanding and gain mutual agreement in relation to information. In addition, presenting information to a large group of staff or Group/Executive management teams.
- The post holder is required to present data in a format that reflects the communication needs of audiences and is required to deliver the data in a number of formats e.g., written reports, oral presentations and statistical analysis and communicate this to committees

Responsibility for Staff
- Assumes line management responsibility for:

- Datix System Manager
- Admin Support Office
- Where required, covers the work of colleagues during periods of absence or peak activity.

Responsibility for Financial and Physical Resources
- The post holder is responsible for the security of resources provided to undertake the associated programme of work e.g., associated IT equipment

Mental Effort
- The post holder is required to spend periods of intense concentration on a frequent basis when giving, receiving, and processing complex, confidential, and contentious information.
- The post holder is required to use analytical skills to assess and present complex information to a variety of audiences.
- The post holder must be able to adapt, be flexible and responsive without notice, whilst maintaining a confident approach to changing environments and circumstances.
