**Job Title**: Head of Technology Enabled Assessment

**Location**: EU - Cyprus, Poland, Romania, Greece, Bulgaria and UK

**Role Purpose**:
You will lead the Global Technology Enabled Assessment (TEA) strand of Business Improvement ensuring the British Council is viewed as a highly innovative and trusted Assessment partner by our clients, partners and the wider Assessment industry. The role will have strategic and tactical oversight: Revising the current TEA strategy, in
- flight initiatives working with and through Product and functional teams, partners, suppliers and the TEA team to ensure effective delivery in over 100 countries.

The role, part of the Business Improvement Leadership Team, will provide leadership across a globally-dispersed team and provide vision and support for British Council and Client teams on the transition Assessment institutions are going through to incorporate technology in their products, processes and scaled up delivery models. All the while, ensuring achievement of the required impact/margin/timeliness outcomes and ensuring competitive advantage for the British Council and its clients.

The role will work very closely with the wider Business Improvement team to build engagement, share knowledge and implement a best-in-class TEA offer across a varied network of 100+ countries and across both British Council owned and GES client products.

**Main Accountabilities**:
**_The immediate focus of the role will be:_**
- Revise the TEA strategy, including the RP strategy across products and vision for the British Council’s TEA ‘offer’ in line with the evolving Business Improvement and Global Delivery strategy and the needs of Product, Regions and Clients
- Review the current “end-to-end” TEA offer’s fitness for purpose and utilisation by GES in business opportunities, including the subsequent negotiations and forming/ reviewing of consortia/partnerships with technology providers (covering TEA platform, Remote Proctoring, Register and Pay, Scheduling systems etc.)
- Enable, engage, prioritise areas of work and mobilise the TEA Team and it’s expertise to ensure the TEA specific outputs, critical to the success of Exams strategic objectives and BAU delivery are defined and produced as per agreed standards for key clients.
- Lead the development of a TEA consultancy ‘service’ as a ‘value-add’ and/or chargeable service to be deployed in partnership with the GES Team.
- Ensure the full scale, scope and the need for TEA changes across various product lines (GES, cdIELTS and Aptis) are understood across the British Council and a robust governance framework is put in place to ensure improvements are completed as per industry standards and within defined timelines.
- Lead, develop and deliver a programme of ‘thought leadership’ initiatives in collaboration with GES and Product teams including IELTS to ensure the British council is viewed as an innovative highly trusted Assessment partner

**_Sector/Subject Expertise_**
- Represents the BC to external stakeholders, partners and suppliers, looking for new opportunities to present Thought Leadership to internal and external audiences
- Acts as a role model and coach in TEA to members of the TEA team (and wider BC teams as appropriate) developing experts within the sector
- Leads the development/commissioning and implementation of high-quality TEA solutions (internal and partnership) to build long-term capability and skills within the Business Improvement area across the BC (UK and overseas)
- Develops a TEA consultancy as a ‘value-add’ and/or chargeable service to be deployed in partnership with the Distribution Team

**_Product, Programme & Service Development_**
- Makes authoritative professional recommendations about the focus and content of major TEA product/programme initiatives, ways of working, appropriate high-level TEA exams processes which have a significant impact on the Council’s performance in the short
- and medium-term in both TEA and related activities
- Identifies new approaches and/or techniques which enhance the efficiency, quality and wider impact of the GED Operations and how they impact the business
