**ABOUT THE ROLE?**

We are building a new AstraZeneca in the UK that aims to become the UK’s leading bio-pharmaceutical company. At the heart of this ambition is our ability to partner and collaborate with the healthcare system to bring value and to continuously transform outcomes for patients in the UK. The UK is a sophisticated healthcare system, often seen as high control, slow to adopt innovation and low-access - a progressive transformation agenda that spans business ambition, customer and patient and organisation and culture transformation sits at the heart of our ability to achieve this ambition.

We have recently announced our intention to create the most competitive and customer-centric commercial organisation in the UK, on that is aligned to customers’ needs, focused on value beyond medicine, one that is flexible and able to meet customers where they are with a mix of in-person and virtual interactions. At the same time, we need to build a head-office engine that is structured, with the right capabilities, to support our commercial organisation to deliver on our value proposition in front of customers. This new organisation needs a future-fit Digital, Data, Technology and Analytics agenda with the ability to access, analyse, serve up data, create and deliver digital content and integrated customer experiences that span online/offline across owned and non-owned channels.

The Head of Technology is a visible and key leadership position accountable for delivering a progressive overarching technology and data backbone required to deliver against the AZ UK company transformation agenda. Head of Technology Transformation is a leader who champions new and focused processes, capabilities and technologies required to enable our omnichannel marketing, sophisticated analytics and insights ambition. As part of this role the Head of Technology leads a multi-disciplinary team, ranging from Products Owners and Project Managers as well as partnerships with key vendors and innovative partners.

**TYPICAL ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Works with business leaders and IBEX LT to understand business priorities and align local and leverage global platforms and tools to deliver and to support these objectives
- Develops operating plans and negotiate budgets to ensure the effective delivery of business objectives within timescales and quality standards
- Provides input into the development of overall Technology Platform and Tool strategy for the UK and contributes to the Global Strategy
- Controls and monitors all costs, capacity planning and utilisation to support the achievement of operational plans within budget
- Defines effective controls so that operations follow required standards and policies
