**Location**: Stoke-on-Trent (ST10) with some travel to our North West homes. Alternatively Manchester -based with frequent travel to Stoke area

**Salary**:£45,000 -£55,000 per annum

Job Purpose

To deliver our clinical operations in the Stoke Region, providing direct and indirect psychology input to children placed within the Restorative Parenting Therapeutic Programme. To liaise with internal and external professionals and family members as appropriate. To support the inclusion of reflective practice in our care and education teams in the northwest and stoke regions. To engage in relevant research and support the development and publication of the practice model. To undertake training of our practice and education teams in the delivery of Restorative Parenting

Main

**Responsibilities**:
To provide specialist psychological and psychotherapeutic input to the Restorative Parenting Recovery Programme, including support, psychological consultation, reflective practice and supervision with professional colleagues.

To contribute to the formulation and implementation of plans of specialist psychological an psychotherapeutic treatment and management of the children’s mental health needs, based on a multi-factorial psychological understanding and current evidence-based best practice.

To undertake a range of face to face psychotherapeutic interventions directly with children appropriate to Restorative Parenting and drawing on a range of psychological models.

To be responsible for providing a specialist psychological perspective in the assessment of children referred to the Programme.

To undertake psychologically based risk assessment and risk management for relevant children and provide advice on the psychological aspects of risk to practice teams.

To consult with and provide specialist psychological guidance to carers and, where appropriate, families and professionals.

To quality assure the clinical support provided by the clinical teams to our therapeutic parents and education staff in the Stoke Region.

Teaching/Training/Supervision/Consultation

To consult with and advise colleagues from other professions on psychological assessment and treatment methods

To teach, advise and consult with carers and community groups on psychological elements of child trauma and recovery.

To supervise, appraise and participate in the management of psychotherapists, assistant psychologists and other colleagues.

Policy and Service Development

To participate in meetings concerned with the delivery and developments of clinical services and contribute a psychological perspective as appropriate.

To contribute as required to the planning and development of operational policies and service delivery in RP through undertaking agreed project work.

To advise service and professional management on areas of service where issues of psychological need should be addressed.

To develop and maintain good communication links with the NHS, Social Services and other appropriate agencies

EVALUATION/RESEARCH/DEVELOPMENT

To remain informed of and critically evaluate current research to support evidence-based practice in own professional work and to contribute this perspective in the practice of RP

To help to coordinate administration of agreed outcome measures

To initiate and conduct psychologically based research relevant to the care of children with complex needs.

To provide advice to members of other professions as required on research design and method.

PROFESSIONAL/ADMINISTRATIVE

To participate in regular clinical supervision

To work within the Code of Ethics and the relevant professional practice guidelines of the British Psychological Society and the professional guidance frameworks of Halliwell Homes.

To work within the framework of the policies and procedures of Halliwell.

To be responsible for relevant data collection on work activities, as required, and to maintain a high standard of clinical record keeping

To carry out such other duties as agreed with the Clinical Lead.

To undertake any reasonable travelling requirements, in order to fulfil the tasks and responsibilities of the role.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT, SUPERVISION AND TRAINING

Continuously develop professional knowledge and expertise, attending and participating in learning and development events, meetings, conferences, and events (as requested/approved by line management) to ensure up to date knowledge relevant to the role

Attend and participate in regular team and other meetings, both internal and external
