The Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent Talking Therapies Service is a creative organisation which embraces staff ideas to constantly seek ways of taking the service forward to adapt to changing expectations.

We have strong links with academic institutions with staff from the service teaching university courses devised in conjunction with MPFT.

Our staff lead professional development sessions locally and nationally and you will be actively encouraged to develop your practice through internal and external CPD opportunities.

**As part of the Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust we offer**:

- An annual salary of up to £34,581 (37.5 hours per week) depending on experience

We are looking for highly organized and motivated individuals who hold the PWP qualification to be employed as Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners. It is imperative that you can provide evidence of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem and are able to demonstrate an understanding of how anxiety and depression present in Primary Care. You should have a real interest in helping people with anxiety and depression to achieve a level of recovery which will improve their overall wellbeing and day to day life.

This role involves assessment, treatment in both 1-1 and group settings. Regular clinical and caseload management supervision is provided and the service has an active continuing professional development programme including relevant clinical and service focuses. A quarterly PWP forum also enables networking and learning.

Applicants should hold a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner qualification ( Post Graduate Certificate or Level 3 undergraduate course) and have experience of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem. Applicants should also be registered/working towards registration with the BABCP or BPS.

Key Responsibilities
- Make decisions on the suitability of new referrals, identifying the most suitable service for the patient
- Assess and support people with a common mental health problem in the self-management of their recovery.
- Undertake patient-centred interviews to identify areas where the person wishes to see change and make an accurate assessment of risk to self and others
- Provide a range of information and support using evidence based high-volume low-intensity psychological treatments
- Work closely with other members of the team ensuring appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements are in place to maintain a stepped care approach
- Prepare and present clinical information for all patients on their caseload to clinical case management supervisors within the service on an agreed and scheduled basis, in order to ensure safe practice and the clinical governance obligations of the worker, supervisor and service are delivered.
