**The Opportunity**

This is an opportunity to take on the role of Cultural Archivist in the Arup University Group. We are looking for someone to join our team and help create, organise and maintain Arup’s Cultural Archive.

Key to the role will be working with Arup’s Head of Exhibitions and the wider Knowledge and Information Management Group as well with Arup University Leadership team to determine the cultural significance of historical items in our organization, develop a multi-faceted Cultural Archive to ensure the efficient documentation and safekeeping of cultural assets for the future of the firm.

As a Cultural Archivist at Arup you will review various repositories of material both within and outside Arup that are of potential relevance to the firm’s cultural heritage. You will explore documents, videos, and photographs held by Arup, determine the historical/cultural importance and value of items found and create a coherent Cultural Archive. The archive may include text, drawings, photographs, and audio and video recordings of cultural, historical or artistic value or interest.

**Is this role right for you?**

We are looking for people who:

- Have proven work experience as an Archivist or similar role.
- Have knowledge of various types of assets (print, photography, film) to determine the historical/cultural importance of an item.
- Are experienced researching items and determining potential cultural value.
- Knowledge of archiving principles (including some knowledge of appropriate digital systems).
- Have a postgraduate degree in history or history of art.
