LONDON, United Kingdom UNIVERSITY OF THE ARTS Full time
We are looking for a motivated individual with excellent cataloguing skills to work with the London College of Fashion (LCF) Archives.

You will contribute to the development and delivery of high quality and student-focused archives and museum services which support the academic activities of the University and its constituent Colleges. Specifically, you will contribute to a programme to catalogue UAL's archives, museum and special collections, to make them discoverable and to support teaching, learning and research at UAL and beyond.

In particular, you will catalogue and promote collections held by LCF Archives, including the womenswear and menswear garment collections.

About you

With a demonstrable interest in fashion and fashion history, you will have a degree in fashion, arts or humanities, a qualification in museum studies, archives, or curation, or equivalent experience in a cultural heritage environment.

Ideally, we are seeking a candidate with demonstrable knowledge and experience of working to international standards in cataloguing and collections care. You will have excellent attention to detail and time management skills.

You will create realistic plans to achieve the agreed deadlines and objectives of the role, and provide guidance and support to both colleagues and the diverse users who access the collections. You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as an understanding of the academic context of the University.

Working at UAL

University of the Arts London (UAL) offers an extensive range of courses in art, design, fashion, communication and performing arts. We are a collegiate University spread across London with six Colleges, four Institutes and five Research Centres. UAL also has two subsidiary companies, delivering specialist activities - UAL Short Courses Ltd, and UAL Arts Temps Ltd.

We're made up of all types of people, coming together in London, the world's creative capital. We are designers, artists, performers, thinkers, researchers and makers. Our students, staff and graduates form a global network of creatives, entrepreneurs and leaders. Together, our ideas change the world. Because the world needs creativity.

We are ranked highly across the board. We are ranked first for specialist art and design, second in the world for Art and Design in the 2023 QS World University Rankings (for the fifth year in a row), ranked fifth in sustainability and two of our colleges were rated in the top three fashion schools in the world.
