The City of Lincoln Council and North Kesteven District Council have a shared Revenues and Benefits service; you will be part of the Administration of the Council Tax team for both districts. The role is based in the Council Offices in Sleaford, but occasionally you may need to work from City Hall in Lincoln.

We have a hybrid working pattern, and you will be required to work from the office/home on a 40/60 split (office days are normally Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday) - working days to be agreed at interview.

We are recruiting one Administration Officer as part of our current team of 12 FTE officers who administer 110,000 properties for council tax. This will include dealing with moves, discounts/exemptions and changes of liable party.

You must be able to work in a calm manner and in line with the City of Lincoln Council’s main aims and priorities. Full training will be given for the position, however some basic Council tax knowledge would be desirable.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Work under the general direction of the Council Tax Administration Team Leader to administer the registration, billing, collection and recovery of Council Tax in an accurate, effective and efficient manner.
- Provide advice and support to customers and promote a ‘one stop’ approach to service delivery.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the duties and responsibilities of other sections within the partner authorities and other external stakeholders.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Ability to communicate both orally and written.
- Previous experience working in a customer facing environment.
- A basic knowledge of the role of Council Tax in Local Government Finance.
- Ability to organise/prioritise work to achieve performance targets.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to work flexibly in line with business needs including locations around City of Lincoln and North Kesteven districts.
