**About the Role***

Applications are invited from motivated individuals to work on an exciting interdisciplinary Wellcome Trust-funded project to investigate pathogen-commensal-host interactions of the human pathogen, _Clostridioides difficile. _A major aim of the project is to design and engineer innovative fluidic models to study the gut microbial interface.

Please note that due to the nature of this role and business operation requirements, the successful applicant will be required to work the majority of their time on campus.

If you are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD but have not yet had it conferred, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant at the top of level 5 of the University grade structure. Upon receipt of evidence of the successful award of your PhD, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of level 6 of the University grade structure.

You will join the laboratory of Dr Meera Unnikrishnan in Microbiology & Infection Group, Division of Biomedical Sciences at Warwick Medical School and make a positive contribution to their research, which aims to understand mechanisms underlying host-bacterial interactions.
