**Description**:
Maldon District Council is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Tourism and Marketing Officer to join our team. You will play a key role in shaping the future of tourism and culture in our beautiful district, known for its 75 miles of coastline and rich history.

**About this role**:
**What you'll do**:

- Contribute to the development and implementation of the Maldon District Tourism Strategy. Work closely with colleagues to ensure community views and needs are understood and fed into the development of strategies and policies
- Develop and manage marketing campaigns to attract visitors to Maldon District. Including supporting the delivery and promotion of our events programme.
- Work with local and regional stakeholders to develop and promote new tourism products and experiences.
- Lead on the utilisation of digital platforms to engage and encourage visitors and residents.
- Analyse data to measure the success of campaigns and the economic benefit of tourism to the district.
- Represent Maldon District at strategic tourism meetings whilst fostering strong relationships with tourism businesses and partners.
- Drive the thinking and design of initiatives that will deliver excellent customer experience across the councils’ operations.
- Facilitate and work in partnership with the Maldon District Tourism Group to bring forward new ideas and funding opportunities.
- Ensure delivery of the work aligns to our Corporate Plan priorities.

**What you’ll bring**:

- A proven track record in tourism marketing or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for tourism and the Maldon District.
- Knowledge of digital marketing/social media platforms and website content management systems.
- Experience with data analysis.
- Experience of using design software.
