Bennett and Game are currently working with an International Freight Forwarder actively seeking a highly skilled Customs Clerk to join their Chelmsford location.

Our client specialises in domestic and international shipments, working with the main shipping lines and local hauliers to ensure all goods are processed and shipped in a timely manner. Dealing with mainly Sea & Air Freight they are looking for a self motivatedindividual to join the Chelmsford location.

**Custom ClerkPosition Overview**
- Working within a team of dedicated Customs Declarants, to process daily workloads on behalf of the clients customers
- Coordinating workloads amongst the team members and ensure they are distributed fairly and completed accurately and efficiently
- Providing technical support and training on a regular basis as required by the individual team members
- Completing all types of customs declarations to the highest standard and customer satisfaction
- Supporting the maintenance of ETSF inventories and other, customs-warehousing related procedures
- Monitor and proactively pick-up on incoming orders via all communication channels and systems
- Provide team members with training and technical guidance whenever required
- Review supporting documents provided in relation to the required clearance to ensure customs clearances are compliant and in accordance with customs and company regulations
- Prepare and process import, export, and transit customs entries in accordance with customs regulations, laws, or procedures using provided customs software (ASM Sequoia, others) and monitoring pending clearances.
- Calculate customs taxes owed on shipments where applicable
- Inform accounting team where applicable and support the collection of any debts
- Communicate with customers on any enquiries
- Liaise with HMRC regarding compliance issues as required in conjunction with supervisors and managers

**Custom ClerkPosition Requirements**
- Previous experiences in Customs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage a team to achieve effective output and satisfaction
- Pro-active approach to work, managing own work loads
- Consistency applied to all tasks assigned
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in their work

**Custom ClerkPosition Remuneration**
- Salary:£25k
- £32k
- Hours: 8:30am -5:30pm
- Monday to Friday
- Excellent career progression
