**About The Role**:
Your main responsibilities will include:

- Accountable for all EMEA led events: lead the EMEA Event Operations team in their delivery for all events
- Updating Senior Management - provide regular feedback and updates on event progress to Global Head of Event Operations and Directors
- Venue contracting - venue search and contracting of over 15 venues a year
- Collaboration with internal stake holders - working with Associate Directors, Sponsorship Managers, Commercial Directors and the Global Head of Event Operations to ensure quality of delivery of our events
- Champion best practice processes and constantly seek to improve delivery where required
- Budget setting - full responsibility of budget management and post event P&L’s including setting the budget for each event and reforecasting 3 x a year, this involves reviewing revenue forecasts in comparison to current budgeted costs
- Ongoing budget management - achieve budget goals through close monitoring of revenue and expenses. Work closely with all departments to ensure spending is within budget
- Invoicing - process all invoices to ensure prompt payment and facilitation of post-event P&L accounts
- Negotiating with and managing contractors - third party vendors such as App developers, AV, caterers, photographers, printers, designers, etc.
- Manage physical assets of the conference department including laptops, monitors, stands, archives, AV equipment etc.
- Attendee registration - liaise/support the Customer Services Team in London to ensure the delegate registration process for each event is accurate and up to date
- Team timelines - develop and communicate event timelines to conference team
- Actively work with sponsorship/commercial teams on sponsorship deliverables
- Onsite management of event before and during conference; work with event venues and manage onsite staff
- Leadership onsite - to oversee the onsite experience including registration area, signage, meal functions, customer service, event production in the plenary, stream rooms etc.
- Evaluating event performance - post-event reporting on onsite experience and best practices

- Experience within a B2B conference and/or exhibition business for at least 4 years.
- Managing a team of 8+ members and possess strong onsite leadership skills as well as excellent communication skills.

**_Personal Attributes_**

You’ll be a “hands-on & sleeves rolled up” as well as “strategic, commercially minded and vastly experienced” senior events professional with a proven background in commercial B2B events, ideally in a B2B conference and expo business and possess strong onsite leadership skills as well as excellent communication skills.

You’ll be comfortable leading an events operations team and must be a strong all-rounder with experience of staff management and allocation of workload & resourcing, working with a range of internal & external stakeholders, financial management of events (budgets/P&L’s, oversight on revenue figures) and event sponsorship along with good knowledge of event marketing, design & production of event collateral, event website management, delegate registration, event logistics & operations, on-site event management and post event analysis.

You’ll also need to be a good negotiator (adept at getting best value for money) with strong commercial acumen who has up-to-date event industry knowledge of current suppliers & venue hire costs, new event technology and innovative new event concepts & formats.

From a personality point of view, you’ll need to be practical & resourceful, calm & diplomatic but also highly motivated and focused with a positive and “can-do” attitude.
