Role:
**Salary: Band 5 £24,360 - £25,353 pro rata (Increasing to £24,558 - £25,560pro rata from September 2023 following a transitional pay award period)**

**Based at: Initially based from Forth Banks Police Station, Newcastle whilst training is undertaken, then working from home**

**Role**:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Vehicle Recovery Section as a Vehicle Recovery Administrator. This is a customer facing role that will involve regular communication with internal staff and Officers and externally, with members of the public.

You will be required to deliver an outstanding customer service and carry out a range of tasks including effective management of all vehicles uplifted by Northumbria Police. You will be required to provide advice to Officers, staff and members of the public in support of the Vehicle Recovery Unit, in order to contribute to the efficient operation of the scheme.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Analyse incident reports on the force system relating to recovered vehicles, problem solving what appropriate action to take with the recovered vehicles, that may include releasing a vehicle back to an owner, retaining a vehicle and requesting further information from the officer dealing with an investigation. Having in depth scope and knowledge surrounding the reasons behind the uplift, and the technical knowledge of powers used by Officers to come to the best decision for the Force.
- Proactively operate and ensure appropriate records created by the role using specialist software are managed effectively, efficiently and in a timely manner, using both internal and national force systems. To determine if vehicles stored for a prolonged period, are in fact needed, liaising with all ranks of Officers and recovery operators retaining the vehicle, challenging if the retention is genuine or if the Force can proceed with releasing/disposing of the vehicle.
- Excellent organisational, administrative, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of customers and stakeholders.
- Ability to plan and manage time and prioritise workloads to meet customer needs. Ability to learn the national legislation and
- it to every issue raised.
- Working with internal systems and Microsoft software packages.
- Ability to work effectively on your own and as part of a team to achieve successful outcomes.
