Salary - Band 6, £25,707 - £27,690 (Increasing to £ 25,920 - £27,918 from September 2023, following a transitional pay award period)

Are you passionate about supporting survivors and ensuring they get the emotional and practical support they need? We are looking for an LGBTQ+ ISVA who would like to use their skills and experience to provide excellent support to survivors and help us grow the capacity of our ISVA team.

**What you’ll do**

You will act as a single point of contact for victims of sexual offences who require tailored support. Providing non-judgemental, impartial information you will empower individuals to make informed choices and advocate on their behalf.

You will be raising awareness within LGBTQ+ services to ensure that any barriers that LGBTQ+ survivors experience in accessing support are overcome.

You will manage a busy caseload, providing tailored support and advice for LGBTQ+ victims of rape and serious sexual offences, developing personalised cope and recovery plans and co-ordinating specialist support in accordance with the Victims Code of Practice.

You will attend court with victims and witnesses, where required, and provide information and advice around attending court as well as delivering and accompanying victims at pre-trial visits.

You will monitor the progress of crimes and provide information and advice, in conjunction with the officer in charge, to victims about their crime within specified timescales, including notification of court cases and outcomes.

You will risk assess victims, providing appropriate safeguarding advice and actions and help them access their rights.

NB: This role will work predominantly with LGBTQ+ clients but will also have some clients who do not identify as LGBTQ+.

**What you’ll bring**
- You will have in depth knowledge and understanding of the potential additional needs, different lived experiences, and additional barriers to speaking out by LGBTQ+ victims.
- Excellent communication skills, in particular empathetic listening, and ability to engage vulnerable victims.
- Experience of working with LGBTQ+ victims of sexual offences and/or other forms of violence.
- Experience supporting victims of crime, ideally victims who have been victims of sexual offences.
- Experience of case management specifically with high caseloads and risk assessment processes.
- Knowledge and experience of the Criminal Justice System and the ability to explain and navigate this with victims of crime
