Bristol, United Kingdom Defence Equipment & Support Full time

Returning from a career break? Passionate about information security and assurance? Looking for the support to help you relaunch your career? Use your skills to help keep the nation safe. Welcome to DE&S.

Advances in information technology and digital communications are revolutionising the way we live and work. Almost every aspect of our daily lives depends on technology, and with it comes a wide variety of benefits and risks. At Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S), keeping information secure and protected is vital to not only our organisation, but Defence as a whole. That’s why we’re committed to sourcing talented people with a range of perspectives and experience, to promote fresh thinking and keep critical defence information safe. Join us as an Associate Information Assurance Analyst on our returners programme and use your know-how to help us do just that - in return, we’ll support you to regain a rewarding career in tech with confidence.

If you’ve taken a career break of at least two years and you’re looking for your next step back into the world of work, join us on a 12-month structured programme where you’ll bridge gaps in your technical knowledge and bring value to our team. We’ll be beside you every step of the way, with support, mentoring and training to develop your skills, as you carry out meaningful work for the security of the UK.

As part of our Digital Information Management and Assurance team, you’ll benefit from experience working with colleagues from a range of disciplines - including information assurance, risk, accreditation and cyber security - and gain experience working alongside our Digital and Cyber Operations team.

Digital and Cyber Operations leads on management of cyber security incidents within both DE&S and the wider defence industry. Their work includes cross-MOD and cross-government collaboration, conducting activities such as incident response, provision of cyber security guidance, threat reporting, and vulnerability management. Currently, this team is leading a fascinating project focused on developing DE&S integration into the wider MOD cyber community and exploring the generation of in-house protective monitoring solutions.

Hear from Information and Cyber Security Manager Maddy: _“DE&S is the first organisation I’ve worked for where I’ve felt truly recognised as an individual. They see you for who you are and make the most of your skills. They value everyone’s strengths while providing a wide range of opportunities to help you succeed.”_
