Speech and Language Therapist

Are you an experienced speech and language therapist passionate about supporting adults with learning disabilities? We have an exciting opportunity to work up to 30 hours per week across both our Learning Disability inpatients facility and our Community Learning Disability Team, both situated in Stroud, which is within easy commuting distance from Bristol.
Working as part of a talented and friendly MDT, you will support people in live their best lives in the community. You will provide assessment, therapy and training in Berkeley House, a seven-bedded assessment and treatment service for people with learning disabilities, behaviours that may challenge, autism or co morbid mental health issues.
It is an exciting time to join, as Berkeley House goes through transformation to extend their service to offer outreach into the community to support people in their homes and prevent admission.
We provide excellent appraisal, mentoring and clinical supervision, and you will benefit from working closely with highly experienced and approachable speech and language therapists. We can also support you through your post graduate dysphagia training.

Main duties of the job
- To provide specialist communication assessment and interventions to individuals or groups of service users
- To provide specialised eating and drinking assessments and interventions to individual service users
- To support the provision of a specialist Speech and Language Therapy Service to adults with learning disabilities in order to meet their communication needs
- To provide education, training, support and advice to colleagues and carers to enable them to provide the best possible care and quality of life for clients
- To provide clinical supervision for less experienced Speech and Language Therapists and Speech and Language Therapy Students
- To carry out delegated tasks in policy development
