Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant or Bookkeeper to join this local Abingdon organisation as their Finance Officer.

**Description**

The Finance Officer role will include a wide variety of duties including:

- Preparation of reliable, accurate monthly accounts in a timely fashion
- Month End & Year End Procedures.
- Familiarity with P&L and Balance Sheet.
- Preparation/checks re VAT return for the accountant.
- To prepare and complete monthly payroll alongside HR and the CEO.
- Ensure robust financial controls are always strictly adhered to maintain the integrity of all operations and to protect the financial resources.
- All day-to-day financial tasks from entering transactions onto accounts package through to allocating payments schedule.
- Financial data input to CRM database and Income & Expenditure excel spreadsheet from P&L
- Bank Reconciliations
- Ensuring all Financial procedures/controls are strictly adhered to
- Effective communication with all levels of Staff/Suppliers/Corporates/Bank etc., re: financial matters
- Ensure sales invoices are raised accurately
- Take payments by C/C & D/C and record on accountancy system and CRM database.
- Gift Aid processing

**Profile**

The successful Finance Officer will have previous experience within an Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper/Finance Officer role. The individual will have:

- Good planning & organising skills
- AAT level4 qualified or similar level of experience
- High level of competency using accounting packages (current packages Xero & VT)
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Good telephone manner
- Competent user of Microsoft Office Applications including Outlook
- Experience of databases
- High level of attention to detail
- High degree of confidentiality
- High degree of trustworthiness
- Team Player
- Flexibility
